Someone. Studied. FPS. Stats. Like a serious, “educational” type thing. No, really.
Researchers have figured out that in Unreal Tournament 2004, players on the red side win more by about 10%. The article states that researchers “studied” the results of over 1,300 games to figure this out. How exactly do you study a stat screen when you only need a winner and a loser?
Ah, who cares. It’s interesting info though. I mean, no one is actually going to try a put scientific though behind this, right? Oh wait. They did. A Neuroscientist in Denmark claims he has the answer:
… the reason was most likely that the color red may act as a psychological distractor for men, possibly because men flush and turn red when they’re angry.
Isn’t is possible that if the study kept going, the numbers would have evened out, or that the red team was the better team most of those matches?
