While mentioned extensively during the press conference, Jack Tretton still offered no firm date for PlayStation home. Tretton simply reassured audiences that Home is coming along, and that the wait “will be worth it.” Companies such as UbiSoft, EA, and even Nike have signed on to support the service. A short video showcased some improved visuals and game specific areas.
Also, Sony announced that their video store has finally went live. Studios such as Sony (uh, duh?), Fox, MGM, Lion’s Gate, Warner, Disney, Paramount, Turner, and Funamation are already up and ready for download. Unlike Microsoft’s service, you can buy the films for $15, and then download it to you PSP or other device to take it with you. That’s a huge advantage for Sony, though the studio selection is stronger on the competition, along with their Netflix service.
