All gamers know Bejeweled. Even a lot of non-gamers know Bejeweled. What’s that mean? $300 million apparently. PopCap has announced today via press release that Bejeweled and Bejeweled 2 have been downloaded a combined 350 million times. That has amounted to 25 million copies being sold across all platforms which includes PC, Mac, Xbox 360, mobile phones, and probably some stuff you’ve never heard of. That’s how big the game is.

All told, Bejeweled and Bejeweled 2 have collectively been enjoyed for an estimated 6 billion hours – the equivalent of 60 people playing the game 24 hours a day since the last Ice Age 11,400 years ago.
No wonder the economy is in a bind.
