One Billion Dollars!
That’s exactly the amount Activision has made from Guitar Hero III. No, not the franchise, but just Guitar Hero III and its subsequent DLC that followed post-release. It’s the first game to ever reach this mark, and just think that it only cost Activision $100 Million to take the franchise as their own.
The series as a whole broke the $1 billion mark about a year ago. So yes, $2 billion+ for this music franchise, and enough money to keep Activision afloat for some time.
Oh, and by “afloat,” that means that much money could literally keep the entire company, buildings and all, floating above water in case of a flood.
