It's one of the few games I can with confidence I'm a pro at, able to play through in one shot without dying. I can't even begin to say how many times I tried to beat it as a six year old, but failed. Those years of practice paid off when I finally blew up that damn heart. <br><br>Now it seems so easy I wonder why I ever had trouble. Also, it's a shame the arcade version ended up on Xbox Live, which while still a damn fine platform shooter, doesn't even compare. Contra was the first video game I ever played, or at least the first one I remember playing. It's one of the few games I can with confidence I'm a pro at, able to play through in one shot without dying. I can't even begin to say how many times I tried to beat it as a six year old, but failed. Those years of practice paid off when I finally blew up that damn heart.

Now it seems so easy I wonder why I ever had trouble. Also, it's a shame the arcade version ended up on Xbox Live, which while still a damn fine platform shooter, doesn't even compare.
