If the official sign of a system finally wading off into the sunset is Gamestop dumping support for the product, than the original Xbox is dead. Like, already six feet under just waiting for the dirt to fall on top of it. As of February 9th, Gamestop will no longer take in any trades related to the system, making it the first casualty of Gamestop’s shelf-clearing policy from the last generation. We all know the PS2 is kicking, but the Gamecube has to be close too despite the Wii support.
One could expect some decent deals on Xbox titles soon, so if you’re looking to beef up your collection, hang on until the clearance sale kicks in.
