Assuming the deal is shareholder approved, Square Enix will be the proud owners of a few shiny new franchises come May. The company will be purchasing Eidos, makers of Tomb Raider, early that month (supposedly May 6th). Shareholder approval is expected.
Eidos stock trading will be suspended on April 21st, and delisted the following day. No word on if Square will be making any changes to personnel, but hopefully everyone will keep their jobs. Anyone else psyched for a Cloud Strife/Lara Croft deathmatch fighter? No? Even if it played Ehrgeiz? Just me then? Then never mind. I’ll keep my crossover fantasy to myself from here on out.
