Different from a condition called hairy palm due to playing Dead or Alive (sorry, that was low even for me), PlayStation palm is a new diagnosis coined by doctors in Switzerland. The condition is caused by intense sweating in the palm due to players gripping the controller too tightly.
The diagnosis comes after a 12-year old girl checked into a hospital with hand lesions. After prescribing/preventing/punishing the girl with no gaming for 10 days, the sores disappeared. The official term for the condition is PlayStation palmar hidradenitis. We’d like to suggest a few more possible conditions:
Xbox crapperd-pad-itis
Wii mini-gamesoverdone-is
DS touchscreen-overused syndrome
PSP lackofgames… uh, well, it just lacks any games period.
