What do you do when your franchise is completely out of legs? Make users use their own!

Okay, bad pun. Sorry. Anyway, the next edition of Tony Hawk is entitled Ride. Because gamers have so much room for overly large plastic accesories these days, Activision is banking the franchise on a gimmick, that of a rideable board. An overly long trailer shows a bunch of footage of real skaters, briefly offers two gameplay snippets, and then shows the board.

While Activision is surely waiting for E3 for a full reveal, even a small detail might of made people excitied for this release. As it stands, this could just be the same game with a board gimmick, or at worse, dumbed down to make it useable. Tony Hawk Ride is coming to the 360, PS3, and Wii at some point in the future. Again, wait for E3.
