Ouch. Remember LAN parties? You know, those hugely popular geek meetings where everyone brought their own equipment to play multi-player games?
*sigh* Yes, there was a time when online gaming wasn’t a possibility…
Anyway, those days may be over if an interview at IncGamers proves true. VP of game design Rob Pardo and lead producer Chris Sigaty both said they “will not support it” in Starcraft II. That’s an incredible miscalculation, because Starcraft is a nationally televised sport in Korea, and that depends on LAN connections to actually work. Since millions of copies depend on LAN play, it’s hard to see the thought process behind this decision.
