ArenaNet has finally released a new trailer for Guild Wars 2, the sequel to their hit MMORPG Guild Wars. The game is currently in Alpha testing and set for release hopefully sometime in late 2010/early 2011.

Guild Wars 2 will feature a vast number of improvements on the original MMO. Current Guild Wars players will be able to import achievements into Guild Wars 2, maintaining much of their status in the switch.

Guild Wars 2 will also add large scale world vs. world combat and run as a global game instead of bogging down players in annoying instancing. Levels will be raised for players and higher level players will reportedly be able to transfer power to lower level party members.

The new trailer boasts some rather gorgeous cinema quality footage, but little in the way of actual game play. With this beautiful of a world, however, I’m quite ready to give it a test drive as soon as possible. Check it out for yourself below.
