Are you excited to get Guitar Hero 5 and start downloading new songs? Sounds like fun, giving Activision more money for the same old crap, right?

Well, that same old crap won’t work on, well, the same old crap. Any songs compatible with Guitar Hero 5 will not work with Guitar Hero World Tour. An Activision rep stated that “advancement and innovations” prevent compatibility between the games, but they don’t exactly state what those are exactly.

However, the rep did say that the downloads would be compatible with future releases, apparently stating that no “advancement and innovation” would ever take place from here on out. Burn.
