Nintendo has confirmed that the Wii is getting a price of $50, lowering the price to $199. The move is undoutbtedly in response to Sony making the first strike with the PS3, the latter of which dropped to $299. Microsoft followed suit with a Xbox 360 price drop of $50, meaning there was a 0% chance any informed gamer should be surprised by this news.
The price cut goes into effect on Sunday, September 27th. If you just bought one prior to reading this, here’s hoping your chosen retailer has a nice price matching policy. Of course, if you bought a Wii, don’t blame us if our sympathy is limited. *burn
