Players who haven’t tried their hand yet in Star Wars Galaxies can now download the Star Wars Galaxies: The Complete Online Adventures Premium Pack Plus, directly from Steam or Direc2Drive. This compilation includes the original game, An Empire Divided, and the expansions Jump To Lightspeed, Episode III: Rage of the Wookiees, and The Trials of Obi-Wan. Players also receive their own in-game items, the AT-RT, and their own exclusive Queen Amidala transport ship. With the Premium Plus pack, players also get the General Grievous Wheel Bike.

Star Wars Galaxies is a long-running massively multiplayer online game developed and published by LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment (SOE). Dubbed the “Ultimate Star Wars journey”, players start off on the Millennium Falcon aiding the iconic Han Solo and Chewie, and move on to explore and adventure through the Star Wars galaxy, meeting and interacting with a multitude of Star Wars characters along the way. Of course, players can opt to choose who to aid and who to fight against, begging of players the age old role-playing question: “Which side will you chose?”

One doesn’t necessarily have to be a Star Wars enthusiast to appreciate some of the finer nuances of the MMOG. Particularly impressive is its Chronicle Master System, a quest creation interface which grants players the ability to create in-game stories through quests. Players come across relics during their playtime, which can be used in the Quest Builder to create quests for other players to play through and complete. Creating a quest with the relic consumes it, and produces what’s called a Holocron, which can be traded or sold in Bazaars. Or course, players can also activate them to participate in the quest. Those who complete these quests are rewarded with profession experience and Tokens, an in-game item that can be exchanged for unique loot items created specifically for the Chronicle Master system.

That the Chronicle Master system has encouraged players to create over three million quests since the system’s introduction only one month ago is absolutely incredible, and is perhaps testament to it’s incredible potential. It should be interesting to see just how LucasArts and SOE expand upon the feature in the near future.
