Only a single game this week, apparently a way focus football fans away from the annual NFL Thanksgiving game and onto the 360.
After the apparent success of NHL Arcade, EA turns to Madden and this rapidly paced XBLA Madden spin-off. The game is beyond simplified, with 10-player teams, four plays on both sides of the ball, no first downs, and a 60-yard field. You either score in four downs or its a turnover. No field goals, no punting.
On the field, the game is fast paced. Stoppages between plays are brief, and a steady flow keeps the game entertaining. Off the field, there is nothing. A quick game is all you can do, and the reasons to keep coming back are nill. Four-player support is a plus, but unless you know you’ll return for single games, the asking price here is too much.
