Japanese gamers looking to enlist in the latest crusade of Soap and Ghost in Activision’s Modern Warfare 2 are slightly miffed at publisher Square/Enix. In particular, the No Russian mission, the controversial level which has the player shooting civilians at an airport, cannot be skipped. Not only that, the player cannot fire a shot, as a single innocent person hit means game over.
Dialogue changes have also been met with some controversy, citing numerous translation gaffes while playing. Square/Enix has no plans to fix the dialogue or change the mission, and adding subtitles is a “technical limitation.”
