For a new player, jumping into a Call of Duty match can always be a struggle. Many of the factions wear similar looking gear and suits, making it difficult to tell teams apart. The only savior is knowing the enemy shows up as red above their avatar and teammates green.
What you likely haven’t thought of is what happens if you can’t actually see red and green? That’s the basis for an new petition (and Facebook group) by a collection of colorblind gamers looking for an alternative.
It’s surprising it has taken this long to happen considering prior editions of the game utilized the same system. The easy fix would be some form of box to appear over enemies (leaving allies blank), with an easy switch on/off button for those that don’t need it. One would think that could not be too terribly difficult to implement. Call of Duty World at War left you change the color, but that’s not always a guaranteed fix either. Hopefully, since the problem has been acknowledged, Infinity Ward puts up a patch soon.
