Developer and publisher Joymax has announced two world-wide events for the historical fantasy MMORPG Silkroad Online to celebrate the launch of Arabic-language service in the game. The two events, “We are the Members of the Arabian Road” and “Level-up Master”, will run from February 2, 2010 to March 2, 2010, giving players a full month to reap the rewards.
“We are the Members of the Arabian Road” rewards players with raffle tickets for in-game Silk purchases, (anywhere from 2-10 depending on the quantity of Silk acquired). Six winners will be selected in a global drawing on March 2nd, with prizes that include an 8-gig iPod Nano and new laptop computer.
The “Level-up Master” event is a leveling race. Anyone who can create a new character and level said character to level 40 during the event period (February 2 to March 2), will be entered into a draw with prizes that include 10,000 skill-points, Seal of the Moon-grade weapons, and a PSP system.
Silkroad Online is a massively multiplayer online RPG set in a history-based fantasy world. Players traveling from mythic China to Europe, amassing wealth as merchants, thieves, hunters, or anything in-between. The game itself looks good and plays well. Unfortunately, Joymax has let the game fall into the hands of Gold-sellers and bots since it’s promising start. Hopefully Joymax can clean up (or at least attempt to clean up) the servers to accommodate the new Arabic language support.
