Modern Warfare 2 Care Package Glitch Fix Coming on Xbox 360

Those who tend to play a lot of Modern Warfare 2 have undoubtedly come across someone using the infuriating care package glitch… at least if you’re on the 360 where the problem has still not been corrected despite PC and PS3 users already having non-cheating fun.

Thankfully, the patch is not too far away, as confirmed by Robert Bowling on Twitter. The patch is currently in the hands of Microsoft certification, and will go live when they get done giving it a run through, which is of course within an unspecified timeframe.

Beyond the care package cheat, other adjustments are being made:

1. Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.

2. Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection

3. Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.

4. Fixes to prevent XP hacks

Hopefully this hits sooner rather than later, as the cheating has become far too commonplace to even report those who obviously can’t get ahead without abusing the system.

I downloaded the patch, people can still do it. I don't know how, but I JUST played a match where it was the same person doing the glitch. Yesterday I had to report around 20 people for doing this as well : /

Played 2 matches last night and didn't run into anyone doing it. I've read that people who are playing on the PS3 are still having issues post-patch, so hopefully it's too difficult to do to make it worth it.

I thought I'd let you know that I've played people that use the carepac glitch and still beet them. It's the best. You get to tell them how bad they really suck at the game, that they need to use the cheat to win and still unable to. It's an awsome feeling.

Definitely have won a few against them. It's priceless when most of your team has rocket launchers and just continues to shoot down everything they get in the packages. Karma does work.

Yeah there is no way you should even attempt anymore to report people with this glitch. For one if you don't use it and a person on the other team is using then your going to lose. I know how to do this and i've been using it because the game is worthless without it. I hate the glitch but I love the game, and its the only way to play it now unless you would like to get destroyed. Hopefully they fix it soon so we can all get back to enjoying the game and not having to worry why there is so many packages coming in for the other team. They should also fix the range on the old model shotguns. They are pretty much snipers, its ridiculous, dual rangers can kill you from almost half way across any map. One more question when you said they are fixin the sentery gun. Do you mean fixing its accuracy or detection cause sometimes i feel like i put it down and it doesnt even see the guy right in front of it.

The sentry gun fix means there are areas of the map you shouldn't be able to place it, but the game lets them anyway. I believe it is on Favela where a small alleyway that dead ends makes it impossible to knock it out if you can place it right.

As for people doing it because the others are, two wrongs don't make a right.
