Sony’s Vita is launching with multiple Sony franchises of note, including Hot Shots, Wipeout, Uncharted, and Super Stardust. One of the publisher’s majors, Resistance, didn’t quite make launch. Instead, it’ll find a new portable home on May 29th.
Resistance: Burning Skies places the franchise in the viewpoint of yet another character, Tom Riley. Instead of being caught up in the war from an already tattered battlefield, Riley was amongst those battling a different threat on the homeland as a firefighter.
In other words, Burning Skies looks to have a little more pep than the recent Resistance 3, a decidedly downtrodden and atmospheric turn for this hefty first-person franchise. Plus, with dual analog sticks, Burning Skies won’t be saddled with clumsy controls like its PSP cousin, Retribution.
