After a demo so disastrous, NBA Elite never came to be. While a handful of copies slipped out, EA pulled NBA Elite from retail shelves a week before release. The supposedly redone NBA series has been on hiatus since, and it looks like 2012 will mark the return of EA styled basketball.
It’s been confirmed that the company will stick with the tried and true NBA Live name, a franchise spawned back in 1994 with NBA Live ’95 (and a sadly forgotten PC entry). Since EA Sports dropped out, 2K has strengthened their grip, signing Michael Jordan and other classic players. It’s a mountainous climb for EA if they want that coveted top slot back.
