Aquaman’s had a bad rap in the past for being a joke, but recent comics have painted him in a more positive image. And now that’s he’s apart of Injustice: Gods Among Us, it looks like this upward trend for good old Aquaman will continue.
Not only was he revealed in the latest trailer from IGN, it revealed more of the story going on in this dystopian, DC future. While the rest of the world falling under the control of some particularly mad superheroes, Aquaman’s maintained a sort of peace treaty with the surface world. If the scene of Aquaman bringing giant, killer crabs to the surface is any indication, we can expect peace to break down at some point.
Aquaman’s always been kind of a pansy boy scout in popular media. It’s nice to see that in addition to the recent revitalization with the New 52 comics, Aquaman in Injustice looks like he takes his seat of power in Atlantis seriously. “I’m the king of Atlantis! I answer to no one!”
