Think Wii Fit is in short supply now? Wait until the general public figures out how to use to to play World of Warcraft. This video, an actual project at a German research center, performs some basic movements in the game rather easily after a quick hack of the software and a PC link up. Intuitive? Not really. Something different to break the monotony of the game after logging a 1,000 hours? Absolutely.

Well, there still don’t seem to be any fatalities, but it is nice to know we can beat the hell out of Superman and make him bleed. Granted, it makes absolutely no sense, but there is T-rated blood. The idea of brawling while falling to the other platforms is interesting as well. The shot of someone getting pummeled through the wall multiple times looks fun too. However, the overall speed seems slow and sluggish, almost on the level of the original Mortal Kombat… which was 16 years ago. That’s not good.

It had Sheng Long, the supposed tutor of Ken and Ryu appearing at the end of the arcade version of Street Fighter II after a ridiculous number of circumstances were met. Players claimed to have found him, but it was all a lie in the end.

However, Sheng Long’s legend lives on… possibly in a new anime produced to promote the latest game in the series. The clip is entirely in Japanese, but the animation and incredible music (listen for Ryu’s orchestrated theme and Ken’s brief snippet when he appears) are enough to hold your attention. Could Sheng Long actually be real after all of these years?

It’s been a while since gamers were able to throw 110 yard passes for a touchdown in video game football. Leave it to Tecmo Bowl to resurrect that style of play. The last time the franchise saw daylight was on the PlayStation in a mess of a game that barely resembled the title gamers know and love.

If this Joystiq preview has anything to say, the golden days are back. From the music, to play selection, to the ease of running down field diagonally to deke out would be defenders, Tecmo Bowl is back… at least without a NFL license. Hey, we can’t have everything.

College Humor NAILS this one. They recall everything, from standard Xbox Live chatter about screen names to the idiocy of Shotty/Snipers matches on Snowbound (or any boards really). If you want to get picky and be a jerk about it, the dead Master Chief should be blue not green, and the battle rifle fires too many shots. Okay, that is too much. Kudos College Humor for a priceless take on the world of online Halo.

Simply put, some of those shots are inhuman, and others (like the double kill with one bullet on the Guardian) are unquestionably luck or dumb play on the part of the other team. The PGA may use it as their slogan, but it seems to fit here too. These guys ARE good.

In an interview with Eurogamer, David Reeves, has confirmed that the UK launch of PlayTV will happen on September 10th.

The twin-tuner PVR solution will roll out in other territories across Europe between September and December. Australia and New Zealand are slated for a January/February 2009 launch when those countries have set their final DTT broadcast standards.

Reeves also confirmed that PlayTV will record whilst you play games, and that the 2.41 firmware included the code necessary to use PlayTV. If your PS3 is up-to-date, you theoretically have everything you need to use the TV add-on.

PlayTV will be priced at £79/€99.

While they’re not new to series canon, they are new to the visual style of Street Fighter IV. Sagat and Balrog join the roster for this classic franchise update.

Sagat was first seen in the rarely played Street Fighter as the final boss. He became the second to last boss in Street Fighter II, and finally became playable in Street Fighter II Championship Edition. While he disappeared from Street Fighter III (as did most of the roster), he did appear in the Alpha series, and finally comes back in what looks like stunning form in this fourth run of the series.

Balrog was the first boss players encountered in Street Fighter II, and like all of the bosses, landed a playable role in Championship Edition. His ground attack style was unique in that he had almost no jumping skills to dodge incoming projectiles, though later games let him swing by if special moves were timed right. Her re-emerged in Street Fighter Alpha 3, and sat out Street Fighter III. His fluid motions capture the power of the Las Vegas boxer even when done in 3-D.

Things to look for in this latest look at Capcom’s anticipated sequel:
The new 100 hand slap looks completely natural.
No polygon clipping when Zangief grabs Blanka. It’s a clean grasp which many fighting games struggle with.
Guile actually lip syncing the words as he does specials.

Ryu’s cringing face when he gets caught by the dragon punch. That’s detail, and almost makes up for the lack puking from Street Fighter II.

The horrific costume design of Abel who looks pulled from a boss battle in Final Fight 2.

Vipers incredible looking flying flaming kick. Fei Long has some competition.
