Japanese and European gamers have been enjoying Club Nintendo for a ridiculously long period. US gamers could only froth at the mouth at some of the bonuses those countries have received, including a number of rarities. The loyalty program lets players prove their worth to Nintendo buy buying lots of their crap in exchange for freebies.
This is all well and good, but given the current state of Nintendo and their strained relationship with the hardcore audience, is this enough to pull them back in? Count me out. Push more than cheap shovelware like Wii Music into the market and more stuff like Wario Land Shake It and we’ll talk.
