Last year, there were rumors the Wii would join the current generation and go hi-def, instead of the measly 480p it currently offers. Those rumors died down. Leave it to Wedbush-Morgan analyst Michael Pachter to drag this one from the dead.
His statement about the Wii next year says, “… the long-rumored high-definition Wii, which is likely to upgrade the Wii to current console technology.” Woo hoo! Of course, none of this is confirmed, it’s all a rumor, and there’s no clarification about whether this would play new games or just upconverted Wii games as they are now. Either way, it has to be an improvement.
