The Xbox Originals program, which let users download Xbox 1 games via Xbox Live to their 360s, is being done away with. Apparently, payiong $15 for Blowout which goes for $6.99 new on Amazon for a physical copy wasn’t a hit with subscribers…
Still, Microsoft can’t actually say consumers didn’t like the program, because that’s not very PR of them is it? As such, they claim they “finished the portfolio” after one additional unspecified release, before moving onto the 360 game store announced at E3. Does this finally mean the official end of backwards compatibility too? Speculation, sure, but if they’re dropping Originals support, no reason to continue with BC either.
