Original Crackdown Dev in Awkward Situation

crackdownMost fans of the original Crackdown probably missed the fact that the developer of the first game, Realtime Worlds, is not working on the sequel when it was announced at E3. Instead, duties wre handed over to Ruffian Games… a company just down the street from Realtime Worlds and even comprised of some of Realtime’s staff. Ouch.

What’s odd is that Realtime actually asked Microsoft for a greenlight on the sequel, but was denied. They instead chose on making APB, which they’ve been working on for a while. Realtime World’s CEO David Jones is a “bit miffed at Microsoft” for not giving them the chance to follow up on their creation, and hey, who can blme them? That’s low mega billion dollar corporation. Real low.
