Warcraft Offline in China for Over One Month

Did you know it is theoretically possible to survive on a diet that excludes World of Warcraft? A unintended social experiment in China has proven true, since Blizzard’s MMO has been offline for a whopping month, and no one has died… yet.

When previous server maintenance company The9 handed over the job to new company NetEase, the result was a complete loss of gameplay that still hasn’t been fixed. Their only response has been “factors out of our control,” which would have to be substantial for a outage of this length. No word on when this will all be cleared up either. At this rate, a ban on gold farming wouldn’t have much of an effect anyway.
