It is a sad day for Halo fans. After Halo Reach is completed, Bungie will no longer be working on the franchise. Bungie’s Lars Bakken confirmed at Comic Con that, “After Reach, that’s it for us.”
Who would take over the franchise? The recently formed 343 Industries, a Microsoft owned studio. Bungie is looking towards the future and is tired of dealing with the series, with a need to expand their creativity a bit beyond a single franchise. Bakken stated:
“We’re already working on a new IP that we can’t talk about yet … we’ve done a lot of different styles – first person to third person to RTS – so it could be anything.”
Hope it turns out as well as Halo.
