So, the PSP is gaining a section of downloadable games called “minis.” Imagine if you could eat a game. A full PSN title would be a steak. Minis would be a cookie.*
The problem is that Sony’s pricing structure charges developers by the GB downloaded, although you would need a lot of downloads before being charged given Minis come in under 100MB, but alas, Sony is being nice and eliminating that fee.
Also, unlike WiiWare and Xbox Indie games, developers don’t need to sell a certain number of copies before being paid, and they can choose their own release dates. Still, if most of the games are like Xbox Live Indie games… well, lets just hope they’re not.
