Broken Glass Studios has released the beta of a stealth oriented Doom 3 Mod inspired by Looking Glass Studios Thief franchise. The game, entitled The Dark Mod, was released to the public for beta on October 17th.
THE DARK MOD is a total conversion for Doom 3, turning it into a dark and moody stealth game inspired by the Thief series by Looking Glass Studios. We have created a toolset with revamped gameplay, AI, graphics, HUD and weapons to allow fans to create missions in a gothic steampunk universe.

Included with the game is an advanced editing suite sporting everything you need to make your own 
missions and a level editor, called DarkRadiant, which has be designed specifically for The Dark Mod. Not too shabby.
The team has a group of amateur and professional game designers under its belt, all dedicated Thief fans. They started working on The Dark Mod in September of 2004, which for you lazier readers, means that its been in development for around five years.
It’s been a long, five year journey to this point, and Broken Glass Studios is proud to present the beta of The Dark Mod. We are also releasing four missions, including a beautiful and extensive training mission where you can practice all the new TDM skills.
You can download your copy of The Dark Mod, or just get more information, at their website. I don’t think I need to tell you this, but you will need a full copy of Doom 3 to run the mod.
