Those waiting with baited breath to secure their early digital copies of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (are you worried it is going to sell out?) but were unsure what they were going to get can rest easy.
EA and Dice have announced the Limited Edition pre-order bonus as… extra weapon unlocks… which may not even be usable in multiplayer since the Steam page makes no distinction. Worse, these are not even special items. Everyone will have access over time. Pre-ordering simply lets you in on the fun early.
If you’re excitement suddenly died, you’re not the only one. Sure, the tracer dart sounds awesome, leaving a magnetic lock-on device attached to vehicles for heavy weapon tracking. You could even attach some additional guns to to a vehicle for defense against such an assault.
Very cool, but if everyone can get them, it sort of lowers the fun factor. However, for balance issues, it is acceptable. Still, a rather terrible “bonus” for plunking down the money early on a game you have never played, and how any piece of digital content can actually be labeled “limited” is baffling.
