Week in Arcade: The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom

Is Microsoft holding back with another single release week, or is the surge in high quality retail releases a cause for the limited selection recently?

The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom

A unique spin on the silent era films of the early 1900s, Winterbottom concerns use with, who else, PB Winterbottom. His quest is one of love… deep, emotional attachment on a level few can fully comprehend… to pie.

Winterbottom does not even care that he can suddenly use time to clone himself. His only care is that sweet, tasty pie that got away from him. PS3 owners who suffered through the Clank sections of the recent entry in the Ratchet and Clank series will recognize this, although in a way that is fun and lighthearted. The puzzles become increasingly challenging, but also increasingly enjoyable, as they complex design meshes with the simple platforming mechanics.

Stylized, complete with film grain, scratches, and text to explain the plot, fans of the early silents will appreciate the attention given to replicate early film. At $10, this is a no-brainer for puzzle fans.
