The action-heavy MMORPG Battle of the Immortals entered closed beta on Tuesday, April 13th, and was met with great success. The closed beta rewarded players who offered their feedback through surveys, to encourage as much constructive criticism as possible. After collecting and considering the info from said surveys, as well as the BOI forums, Perfect World Entertainment has officially launched the Battle of the Immortals open beta on May 4th, 2010.

“Demand for Battle of the Immortals has been tremendous and to help launch the open beta, we are unveiling a new server, Aquarius. This is following the flood of players that made the closed beta such a success and subsequently resulted in us opening additional servers within 20 minutes of launch,” said Product Manager Jonathan Belliss. “Our Shanghai development studio and I would like to thank our players for helping to shape Battle of the Immortals into their own game. We’ve had great success and understand that our games are only as great as our players.”

Aside from patching some in-game mechanics like item-drops and crafting, improvements and additions to the game include WASD movement, tab targeting, key binding, a more streamlined interface, and improved access to Soul Gear equipment.
