NBA Live is dead. What started as a fast paced, 3/4 view title that revolutionized basketball games back in the 16-bit days has officially been dropped, replaced with NBA Elite 11. The new game, rumored for some time, is a total reboot for EA basketball.
The controls have been retooled to fully implement the right analog stick into play. Dribbling behind the back requires a sweeping motion along the bottom of the stick. Shooting requires the player to push up and then let go. Shooting is no longer a game of chance, but skill… which means Shaq will be able to hit threes with the best of them? Everything is physics based now, not tied to any specific animation.
Look for the first edition of NBA Elite in October, along with EA’s online pass garbage too.
