AAFES Bans Medal of Honor, Sells Booze, GTA

The Army & Air Force Exchange Service made the decision to ban EA’s Medal of Honor after news got out that it includes the Taliban. Even after bending to pressure and renaming the Taliban to “Opposing Force,” AAFES still won’t carry the title.

It’s an interesting point since these same stores stock beer, tobacco products, Call of Duty, and of course Grand Theft Auto titles. A Stars and Stripes piece discovered the odd sales, and chatted with a soldier who stated the reason for Medal of Honors dismissal is, “a commander who doesn’t play video games and hasn’t caught up with the times yet.” Sounds like a lot of politicians who jumped on the bandwagon to “protect the children” from violent games and failed.
