Microsoft is catching beat-em-up fever with the recent deals of the week. Scott Pilgrim was on sale for only $5 the week of the 8th, and this weeks it’s EA’s platform beat-em-up Shank.
Shank’s gorgeous art style with smoothly and aggressively animated sprites make it a joy to play through, even if there are a few too many sections where enemies pour in from locations unnamed. Shank also carries a co-op multipayer mode which is entirely different than single player, although significantly shorter as well. Still, for the wealth of violence, enjoyable boss fights, and engaging cinematics, Shank is now at the price it probably should have been when it launched. It’s well worth it.
