Perfect World Entertainment has revealed its licensing agreement with Korean publisher WindySoft to bring the action MMORPG Rusty Hearts to the North American market. Developed by the Korean-based Stairway Games, Rusty Hearts combines side-scrolling and 3D adventure with arcade-style hack-and-slash action in a macabre, European-esque setting, creating a visually unique and exciting experience.

Perfect World Entertainment’s MMORPGs, while visually impressive, generally err on the safe side, presenting online games that don’t deviate much from the MMORPG norm. Rusty Hearts will be a very unique addition to PWE’s game library, by nature of its action-heavy gameplay and notable manga art style.

“As ‘Rusty Hearts’ is an action-based MORPG, which differs from our existing game portfolio in genre, we believe it will help us extend our market penetration while also bringing new and unique online gaming experiences to our players,” said Alan Chen, CEO for Perfect World Entertainment Inc.”We will work closely with WindySoft on the localization to provide our North American players another high quality game with excellent service.”

Rusty Hearts is expected to make its official North American debut at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2011.
