Wakfu, the tactical MMORPG created by France-based Ankama and published by Square-Enix in North America, has been given a Closed Beta date: January 31st, 2011. Players interested in the beta should visit the official website to sign up for the event.
Wakfu is a bright and colorful free-to-play fantasy MMORPG with turn-based tactical gameplay, a large variety of playable classes and abilities and a unique art style, as you can see from the images in our gallery below.
Wakfu offers players:
- 14 unique classes, each with 25 spells
- Turn-based, grid-based combat
- 16 professions to learn, divided between crafting professions (such as tailoring or weapon crafting) and harvesting professions (such as farming or fishing)
- A large assortment of character-customization features
- Interesting political dynamics, which allows for voting and elections, taxation and more.
To coincide with the Closed Beta announcement, The official Wakfu Site has also been re-launched with more content, giving players interested in learning more about the game an in-depth look at the classes, professions, monsters and world of Wakfu.
