Surprising no one with the upcoming onset of new hardware, Sony has lowered the price of their first handheld and the modified digital-only models. The PSP-3000 now runs $129.99, with the PSP Go coming in at $149.00. Why the Go remains the higher priced hardware is still a bit of a mystery.
Many stores have still not latched onto the PSP Go price drop, sticking with a $200 price point. The official Sony PSP site has the listing at $149.99, meaning either it’s a (doubtful) mistake, or it’s not something retailers have had time to properly implement. Either way, if you’ve held off this long and the pending NGP isn’t doing anything for you, this wouldn’t be a bad time to jump on board for some quality on-the-go gaming.
