Warner Bros. appealed for the upcoming release of Mortal Kombat to land on Australian store shelves, and they were shot down for the second and final time. The carefully crafted update to the classic franchise will have to be imported by eager gamers within the country. The refusal is permanent.
Warner’s statement was standard fare, stating they were disappointed by the decision and thanked fans of the franchise for their support.
Those who live in other countries can check out a demo via PSN Plus right now. The game’s stiff, rigid mechanics make it feel like the Mortal Kombat of old, with just a hint of the combos that dominated some of the later entries. Consider it a mix of Mortal Kombat 2 and Mortal Kombat 3 and you’d be right on the money.
