Not satisfied with pumping out a singular remake of the N64 classic Goldeneye, Activision has went back for another round. This time, Goldeneye 007: Reloaded will be revitalized on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Now featuring a brand new engine built from the bottom up and running at a smooth 60fps, fans of the movie port will be able to experience the same narrative yet again. Level design and the campaign will remain intact, albeit prettier.
To add a fresh spin, Activision is adding in Mi6 missions, objective-based challenges to offer a reprieve from the general shooting gallery. They’re not simply plucked from the main campaign, but fresh designs. PlayStation Move owners can run their way through using the peripheral, although Kinect users have to use an actual controller. Some may find that merciful.
Those who want a more classic experience can delve into a four-player split-screen golden gun massacre, or for the more refined modern player, 16-player online deathmatches will satiate the blood lust. Activision is also developing new maps, and surely that means some of them will end up as DLC. Would you expect otherwise?
