The final game in the Summer of Arcade promotion is here, and it’s a doozy.
A sequel to the wonderfully kitschy Toy Soldiers pushes the tower defense franchise up a few decades into the grand ol’ ’80s. Stallone parodies, evil Russians, pop music, and killer hair dominate this awesome shooting fest. It survives on more than just its era, pushing itself mechanically for more refined, clean gameplay that offers fluid controls, additional offensive means, and boss fights to end all boss fights (even in the tutorial!). Co-op and versus spice the title up post lengthy campaign play, while the mini-games are mostly better off forgotten.
