Space Invaders World Record Doubled

Flemington, New Jersey is on the map thanks to Space Invaders pro Richie Knucklez. He doubled the previously recorded world record high score on Taito’s classic previously set in 2003 by Donald Hayes.

Hayes was able to shoot down enough wandering aliens to amass 55,160 points, Knucklez (seriously, Knucklez) pouring it on for 110,510 in his own arcade. The two have actually exchanged tips over the years which Knucklez freely admits led him to discovering a quick 300 point upgrade.

Knucklez also holds world records for Phoenix and Space Fury, and will be gunning for an endurance record in Ottumwa, Iowa.
