Modern Warfare 3 has fallen in the hands of pirates but Activision apparently has no qualms sending in their legal hit squad right to your doorstep to deliver an ultimatum: delete your pirated copy or face the heat.
An employee working at a shipping warehouse got the funny idea to steal the second disc of the game and upload it to the internet. While it may be too late to stop the pirating as a whole, Activision will do things the hard way if it has to.
If they suspect you of having a pirated copy of Modern Warfare 3, they’ll contact you and ask you to delete any and all copies of Modern Warfare 3 in your possession. Failure to comply means a $5,000 fine, and if you’re too rich to care about dropping five figures, a permanent ban from playing the game online when it launches on November 8. Hope you like Battlefield 3!
We’re talking about a franchise that continues to sell like crazy every year and continues a promise of paid DLC after every launch. I wouldn’t put it past them to use dramatic irony in their tactics and put a hole in your house with a cannonball while wearing beards and eye patches.
