EA Sued Over Backing Out Over Battlefield 1943 Promise

Particular Battlefield 3 fans will remember EA promised PS3 owners a digital copy of Battlefield 1943 for purchasers of Battlefield 3. You may also remember that they never made good on that promise and instead offered early access to DLC. To be clear, they said early access to paid DLC. Now someone out there decided they aren’t going to take this lying down and has actually gone and sued EA.

Edelson McGuire has filed a suit against EA. The crux of his case being that EA, “misled and profited from thousands of their customers by making a promise that they could not, and never intended, to keep.” When you put it like that, it sounds like a slam dunk.

Hopefully we’ll see this develop as McGuire goes to court not for himself, but for everyone who bought Battlefield 3. It’ll also be interesting if you keep in mind that Sony altered their ToS a while back, though we’re talking about EA here, not Sony.

This scandal’s been quite the drama bomb for Battlefield 3 players. Kind of makes you wish you bought Battlefield 3 instead huh, Modern Warfare 3 fans?
