Sony’s Japanese launch of the Vita seemed successful enough, and then the social media complaints started rolling in.
The issues were various, from software lock-ups, touch screens that didn’t respond, or entire system freezes. You know, the stuff you don’t want when a console launches?
Sony has been on top of it though, thankfully showing aggressive support with patches already available and a full written apology (according to Engadget). Of course, this means things should go smoother with the worldwide launch, and hopefully, Easterners aren’t terribly turned off by the hiccups. They’ve certainly got a solid launch line-up to play with.
Also, this is probably the point where it should be mentioned to drop in your pre-orders if you’re interested. The system hits the US February 22nd, 2012.
