It looks like Gran Turismo 5 is undergoing a renaissance of a rebirth. It’s already been updated with the Spec 2.0 patch and now it’s getting more DLC to keep the GT5 train a chugging.
There will be two new packs with a specific focus of content for each. The Car Pack 3 will of course have new cars to add to your garage. It’ll cost you $6.99 and include the Aston Martin V12 Vantage ’10, Lamborghini Aventador, Mini Countryman S ’11, Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Care ’88, Nissan Leaf G 2011, and Volkswagon 1200 ’66. Meanwhile, the Speed Test Pack will give you the Special Stage Route X Oval test course which will also come with additional measurement options to really test every last detail you can crunch a number on.
Both will release alongside Update 2.03, which is reported to bring several smaller, system-oriented tweaks like wallpapers and optimization.
One last thing is that a special Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition will be releasing on January 17 as well, a disc with all previous DLC packs included along with Spec 2.0. While not exactly analogous to Capcom’s series of game updates, it certainly calls to mind Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3.
