3DS Firmware Update Creates Folders, Patch Ability

Were you a 3DS Ambassador, or in laymen terms, an early adopter with more retro NES and GBA Virtual Console games than you know what to do with? An upcoming 3DS firmware was designed with you in mind intrepid console buyer!

Nintendo will be adding folder functionality, wherein players can stuff 60 digital icons into a single space without clogging up their home screen. The update should be coming on April 25th, although firmware updates have been delayed in the past for… stuff.

The other boon for owners comes in the form of support for software patches. Yes, this means Nintendo might fix the Wuhu Mountain track fiasco in Mario Kart 7, which effectively rendered the online play useless for legitimate players. Or, at least, the functionality will be there to do so.
