In a pre-E3 press conference to go over some of the basics, Nintendo delivered a glimpse at the slightly tweaked Wii U tablet controller, but also revealed something else: a different controller. While previous reveals made note of the WiiMote still functioning on the Wii U, this Pro Controller looks a whole lot like Microsoft’s Xbox 360 pad, swapping the button placement for an analog stick and vice versa.
Oh, and the button letters are reversed to Nintendo’s backwards methodology.
If nothing else, it reveals Nintendo’s dedication to the more hardcore gaming audience with their new platform, a promise they made at E3 last year.
